System Aqua were asked by Merlin Entertainments to design and build an aquarium Life Support System (LSS) to be used to train their technical teams.

Drawing on our decades of experience operating LSS we set to work designing a system allowing instructors to show students key operational elements within a typical filtration system.  Valves and clear pipe sections were installed to allow the operator to show pump restriction, water level management as well as flow regulation & flow dynamics.

The system includes:

– Custom PP sump
– Mechanical filter chamber
– Duty/Standby filtration pumps
– Adjustable & Illuminated cavitation section
– Ultrasonic and reed switch level Sensors with digital display
– Digital flow meter
– Sand filter cut away model
– Control panel

As with all our installations noncorrosive fixing, fasteners and supports used throughout.
Phase 2 of the project will include a protein skimmer and biofilter planned for later in the year.
